Chatter from front drive shaft?
Hello everyone,
I have a well worn '76 250 4wd that I have had for several years now. I noticed last winter that when the hubs were engaged with the truck in 2wd, there was a chattering sound when coming to a stop with the transmission in neutral. I would be driving and then push the clutch in or put the truck in neutral while I slowed to a stop and I can hear the front driveshaft turning and making a chattering sound. It's actually pretty loud. Do you think its just the joints? What else would make that kind of sound? Just curious as I want to fix it before the winter hits again. Thanks!
