How heavy are they?

OK. I should know this by now but I never needed to know before, so I never looked into it. Now I need to know and don't have a scale large enough to find out accurately.

I need to know how heavy the following parts are. You don't need to be an expert to help me out. I am prepared to accept educated guesses.

1973 - 1979 F Series;

Styleside Longbed with Gate. (I guess it is 450 pounds.)

Stripped Regular Cab (I guess 750)

Complete Regular Cab with Doors but no/seat (I guess 1200)

Whole Front Clip but no/radiator (I guess 300)

Also if anyone can weigh out a complete 73 - 79 regular cab Door, just the door, it would help out big time.

I just can't afford a huge scale or take the items to the local crusher to have them weighed.

Thanks guys!

I cant answer on the exact weights of things, but I do have a literature that tells you how much weight to add and subtract for the various options. (no help here, I know.)

On the door, are you talking a complete unit, glass, regulator, latch/handle mechanisim, or just the skin? The entire door I would guesstimate to be around 40-50#, bare, Probably around 30ish.

What is a LTL carrier??

I know that shipping things via UPS and FEDEX I get dinged for an oversize fee($75 ish) for shipping larger items like a tailgate, and pay about a dollar a pound for the package.

Have you looked into using Amtrak, or Greyhound for shipping? I have never used them, however I hear they have awesome rates compared to the trucking companies.

Hi Tony, LTL is Less Than Loaded, meaning not a whole trailer load.

Fed Ex is great but oversize III ends at 165" L X Girth so the cabs and beds are too big. But it is nice for doors and core supports, etc.

I have used Greyhound before Fed Ex started offering Oversize III. Now it's mostly Fed Ex for everything.

As for my weight question, I just wanted to give a shout on here and see what the collective Ford Mind thought some of these items weighed. I can just estimate until I can get a plateform scale.

It looks good so far, that I will be able to ship to Canada and world wide competetively.
