95 F150 Starting issues
Need some help with this one. The vehicle has an recurring issue with firing. My brother just gave me the truck and told me of issues with it starting. This is what I have seen so far. When driving home the check engine light came on. As I drove I noticed it would go off at lower speeds and come back on at 55 or above (est.). When I would come to a stop the light would go off but the truck would stumble and then surge back to normal running. What I have done so far is check the coil and I have voltage to the coil but no fire. I assumed the coil but a replacement did not correct the issue. I noticed the check engine light is staying on after all lights cycle with the ignition in the on position. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to FTE James. The first thing you need to do is pull the codes, this will give you an idea of what is happening. Then report the codes back here and we can go from there. Your truck is OBDI, a code reader can be purchased at your local auto parts store for around $30, or you can use a paper clip and the following method:

Thanks for the info. Will do some checks this afternoon and report back what I find. I was able to get the truck started last night after unplugging and replugging the TFI Module. No issues after doing that. Still have to run it about twenty miles at highway speeds to see if issue continues. Will post findings later. Thanks for the reply and help.
