Man, I thought about it the next morning that I hadn't PM'd you my number again in case you got lost. The track it right off 17 about 8-10 miles north of Saluda (which is a little North of Glouster) and 20 miles south of Tappahannock. Did you pass a big dirt track on your left hand side as you came North? If you did, that was it!!
Sorry about the mix up. I have to say you missed a hell of a show!! There were a bunch of big horse power guys there. My favorite truck was a mid to late 80's F-350 that was eatingthe course up! It was amazing to see that big, full steel body, stock glass truck run as fast as it was. I don't know what he had in the motor, but it was right!
I got a compliment from Dennis Anderson after I made a run that was about 1 second slower than his son's 1000 hp truck! I think it really blew his mind when I told him that my truck still has the full stock interior and almost 200k miles on the stock motor! He shook his head and said he had been telling his son that it's not always how much power you have, but that it's about how you get it to the ground, and that my truck proves that point. Gotta love it!!!
Next race is October 20th at Mountainview, up in Stafford. This will be my last race of the season, so after this, the plans start with the new truck.... Speaking of new truck, Henry, any word on the pics????
Sorry it took so long for the reply. Bowling has kept me tied up for the week, but, the good news is I know where the truck is and I will get pictures this weekend and send them via PM.
Sounds like you all had a blast at Saluda. Wish I could've been there. Will post pics soon.
Not your fault. . .I was getting mad as I made my way up there. Coming up 17 in the rain was just as bad driving down Atlantic avenue in the rain. . .and the traffic was horrendous
I was already pretty steamed when I got up to where the thing was (according to the directions). Not only could I not find the street, I didn't even see any road signs or anything for it The final straw was broke by another driver. God forbid I wasn't doing 75 in a 60 while trying to find this place, but the guy tail gating me must have been in a hurry real hurry. . .he finally passed me and flipped me off That was it, I said %$^& it and went home
Oh well, sucked to miss this one. . .October 20th is my birthday so I will be busy doing other things
Sorry to hear about the bad stuff happening. Well, October 20th will be out last race of the season, as we are getting into hunting season and I've got to kill something!!
We are going to start on the "Project" in the next couple of months, so look for progress on that and I'll try to get pics posted as progress permits.
The truck pics are up in my gallery. You'll know which one when you get there. Look them over and let me know what you think. I'll check the boards when I get home from bowling tomorrow night.
I'm glad I made it out to at least 1 race. . .there's always next year though.
Be sure to post picks of your kills! I got a pretty old 12 gauge shot gun of my dads I need to get fixed and cleaned up. . .maybe not hunting, but I like shootin' stuff
Rain or shine!! We'll be there. If you still remember how to get to Nick's place, you can meet us there is you want. Or give me a yell and I can get you directions over there. That way you won't have to wait on us.
Hey Karl, ive got 2 people comin down on Saturday to join us. One is a female friend of mine, and her friend. Ive already given her the rules about alcohol, and that we arent going to have any over by the pits. Just wondering about what time you guys all plan on leaving after we get everything loaded. That way i can tell her when to meet us.
As always, I want to be pulling into the pit area around 9, but as our history show, it's more like 9:30 or 10. Just have them meet at the house around 8:30 to make sure we don't leave without them.
Well it has been a run this year! Lots of problems, and a little luck helped us through it all...... But not too bad of a showin for 2 pretty much stock vehicles running right with the bigger boys! Before we finish off the season I would like to personally thank everyone that has been with us through all the ups and downs..... Henry, I know that it's a long drive up here every couple of weekends. Thanks for coming up and gettin dirty with us kids! I'm looking forward to changing tires with you Saturday! Karl, you have helped me out more than you know. From the first time that we went out, I'll never forget that three day ordeal!!!! But remember we've been sayin this for almost 2 years now....... WE'LL GET 'EM NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!! Morgan, GET THAT DARNED BRONCO OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY...... I gotta build my garage! I know that I didn't get everyone, just the guys that were on the top of my head, and the others are not on the site. Oh and thanks for the sticker Steve, it's still on the window, and no matter how hot it is I keep that window up for every run so that people can see it! Hope to see everyone Saturday!!!!!

I remember. Most times all I need is to drive it one time and I got it down. I'll head there first and if I don't see ya, I'll give you a ring on the cell.
