I have what seems to be a GEM module problem from doing searches. All of a sudden my 03 Epy. started having problems. My 4x4 and 4LO lights started going nuts. Truck wont shift into 4x4. Heated and AC seats dont work, Door pin switches on any doors or liftgate does not work. Now radio wont stop until it times out after 15 min because the truck doesnt know the doors have been opened. My auto headlights do not and my advance track light comes on as soon as I start the truck. I did have a cooler with alot of water spill over on the rear passanger side. It soaked the floor board and front drivers floor board. The cooler spilled over about a week before I started having trouble. I figured it was a GEM module from doing research on here. Ford tells me the GEM module has been replaced by the security module. I took it to Ford to replace the security module (it needed programing). Well the security module isnt the problem. Ford says they are going to have to start taking things apart and it sounds like its going to get expensive. Any suggestions?
I got the truck back from the dealership. Not as bad as I had thought. They charged me $429.00 for four hours or labor to track down the problem. I was told a group of wires in the rear of the truck over the drivers side wheel well had been broken. Not sure how they could have gotten damaged under the plastic but at least they found the problem and everything seems to be working. Thanks for the suggestions.
