haven't had a chance to check the truck yet but i did noticed that the vibration gets really bad at 80
Now you know not to drive it under 90!
He swapped the tires front to back..... I think something is loose. Bad alignment does not cause vibrations, but can make it worse. Same with shocks. So if it's not a wheel or tire, it has to be something loose. Could even be a driveshaft if you can't find anything loose in the front end.
Have 99 F250 2wd. Barely made it home last night. Checked this afternoon and believe Tie Rods? Hooks to Passenger side brake assembly. Have about 180,000. Have changed shocks awhile back. Any body know where to find instructions on what to do to change Tie Rods? Do I need to do both sides? Then align? Any help appreciated as always> Dave
i finally got the truck jacked up and checked the ball joints and there is slack in the upper one i figure i might as well do both while im in it it looks like i need some kinda press or tool to get them out and how hard is this to do
Recently I have looking at changing Tie Rods and or ball joints, here in Texas at Auto Zone they have tool kits for ball joints and so forth they let you use for free- have to put a deposit. Dave
to me it lookes like you need a press to get the ball joint out of the knuckle and if so does harbor frieght sell something that will work i'm scared to ask what some shop would charge to do it so i'm gonna try and do it myself if i don't need some really expensive tool
