6.4 info please

I would like to try to conduct a survey on the effects of the EPA restrictions on diesel engines. I would like to know model, average MPG, and also repair info (warranty or non-warranty) that replaced any of the new emissions devices, the new emission devices caused something to fail, or something due to fuel quality. For sharing this info I would be willing to make a spread sheet detailing everyone's MPG, and update it once a week and upload the latest copy or make it accessible on a website. TIA for everyone who is willing to help and maybe this effort could make a difference with the present or future EPA restrictions.

Thank you very much, I also forgot to mention if you could possibly also say your driving style, ie: conservation minded, moderate, lead foot, things like that, and also mention %hwy/%city and if you tow or don't tow and % of time you do.

You have good intentions, but you are trying to change the mind of a government agency. It will take the power of an industry as a whole to do this. And believe me, the EMA, Engine Manufacturers Association, has tried. It doesn't take common sense to see what the overall affects of the new emissions devices will be. We are going to be consuming more natural resources in order to keep our air clean. IMHO, the development money could have been better spent on alternative fuels instead.

I guess it couldn't hurt.

2008 F250 6.4L CC 4x4 Lariat w/ 20s. I have almost 3k miles on it.

All city, stop and go, with idiling, 13.5 mpg (non-towing) that's using Ford Cetane booster. W/out cetane booster, 11ish MPG in the city. These figures are hand calculated.

Only warranty work I had done was for defective engine oil dip stick tube (they forgot the gasket at the factory) which caused oil to leak everywhere.

No problems with the truck. Truck dosent like any aftermarket air boxes, I' ve got 6500 miles on mine know. I get 11.5 in town and 16 Mpg hwy. Towing 10,000 LBS at 80 MPH i get 8 MPG. I drive moderate to lead foot. This is the best towing ford i've owned so far. Towed my 10,000 Lbs tounge type 28' enclosed trailer without my equalier bar or sway brake and did know it was behide me which is impressive to me considering its not a dually.

The powers that be are about as worried about how much it costs you to drive your truck as they are about how much it costs you to buy cigarettes.

Conservative driving, no hammering it. 5 speed auto, 3.73 rear, SRW, 4X4, 20" rims with factory tires. 30% city, 70% highway. For the amount I towed my travel trailer, we'll just say that I didn't.

Thanks so far for the info guys, i realize that this may not work, but i still believe that it could be worth a shot. I am also trying to get some info from Ford, GM, and Dodge dealers about warranty repairs or other issues with new emissions equipment, anything that could possibly support what i'm doing
