Another SuperD Rubic's cube

When I auto switch into 4x4, my A/C comes out only thru the defrost vents. What the heck is up with that I wonder.

vac leak...check hoses going to the hubs first..then work your way back to the pump

Mine did the same thing, vacuum leak. Mine was on the hub.

Ok thanks guys. Looks like its back to 7.3 mechanic to find the vacuum leak. This appears to be yet another common failure on the Ford SD. There's a guy on this same page with this problem. Now I'd really like to tone down my moniker. Maybe PSDLIKER. I am not nearly as enthusiastic at 104K as before. I am fixing one common failure after another - barely keep up anymore.

it is not only ford that has this problem..i still have the old shift lever on the floor..i lock the hubs full time in the winter ..when i need 4x4 i just reach down and pull that lever back and im locked in..if i have a long ride on the big road.. i un lock the hubs..
