Alternator help
My generator went bad and I went to the parts store and got a new alternator for the truck. Obviously it is a far different shape and will not bolt in. Is there any readily available adapters or will I have to take another route and go the salvage yards to find an original?

OK Mark is the pivot (bottom) mount on the alternator shorter than the one on the generator. They usually are. Better to remove the generator and do a side by side comparison. If this is the case you need to add a spacer or stack washers to make up the space. As far as wiring goes you'll need a regulator that is used for alternators wich is different from the one used for generators. Then follow this link www.mustangsteve.com/GENtoALT.html its for mustangs but it will be the same for your truck. Wires may be colored different.
