i would think the simplest way to a/c an old truck would be to look at some street rod stuff for an under dash unit.this is what i did on my 65 and was an easy install looked good and worked good,the only thing was who ever was in the passenger seat was a lil colder then me

Thats about what i am looking but so far i have found stuff for chevy but not for my truck.
I don't think anyone makes a specific kit for our trucks. You can find universal kits. I've seen some on Ebay. If you want one to fit the shape of the dash you'll have to go to the bone yard or Ebay for a used original.
VintageAir is what I'd look at, but by the time you piece a complete unit you'll be in deep. The box is cheap($200+?), then add compressor, lines, condensor, etc.
I've looked to put one of these single a/c units in my Mack, but just haven't justified the money yet.
