I am installing a set of '03 power buckets into a 1966 F100. I have searched for wire color/component info, but have not found it. I need to know what each wire in the main connector is for. I have identified the solid green as power for the movement motors and the solid black as the ground.
There are two other heavy(12 or 14 gauge) wires and two smaller(18 gauge) wires. What are their functions? The seats do have the heated option, so expect some to be for that.
I think I can unhook the seat belt preloader??? and it will be safe?
The connector I am referring to is an 8 position gray pin type. There are 6 wires in it. Here are the positions from the black wire in the lower left corner. The bottom row from left edge-1) black-12 gauge 2)green-12 gauge 3)brown/lt. blue-18 gauge 4)white/red-12 gauge. Top row from left-5)empty 6)empty 7)blue/red-18 gauge 8)red/blue-12 gauge.
Hope that makes sense I powered up the green and grounded the black and the motors moved the seat( I think I tried all the controls) but I have not tried to operate the heater yet.
o.k. you are on the outside of the plug. i was looking at the wires to each motor to see what the function was. thats on my DVD. your probably right, the others are the seat heater, maybe seat belt alarm, etc.
