Hpop??????
I was reading and researching exhaust brakes on the forums and kept seeing everyone discussing HPOP. Ok HPOP is High Pressure Oil Pump. What does it do? Why is it good for the truck. I just bought a 2001 F350 dually 7.3 crewcab 4X4 Centurian model and have been upgrading. So far gauges, Jodys chip, exhaust, intake and Gear Vender overdrive. I think an exhaust brake and lock is next because I pull a heavy fiver I was just wondering about the HPOP. I am NOT looking for a hot rod just a good pulling truck that will last. Any other recommendations on upgrades. I already have too much in it to ever sell it so I might as well make it right!!!
Thanks again for all the great advice.
Pam
It seems like youve got most of the common mods we all have. as far as recommendations.
Depending on how long you plan to pull that fiver with this truck the TC lock will help but a stronger tranny will be in your future depending on how hard you work it. I would get a valvebody for the tranny from Brians transmission shop, and synthetic tranny fluid, and a bigger cooler. With a dually you have at least a 4:10 rearend so the truck is geared tall on purpose and i would be carefull with that overdrive depending on terrain, watch your EGT gauge.
Upgrading the stock brake rotors and pads would also help with the stopping power. You could also do the fuel tank mods for faster fillups and no air in your system
Good luck.
