This is my first post in thes fourm...normally I am in the 80-86 fourm.
I have a friend with a 99 250 LD 4x4. he currently has stock 16's and wants to upgrade to 20's
the question is: what are his tire size options if he upgrades to a 20"wheel?
he needs to know if he can do this upgrade without fear of rubbing?
he is not a 4 wheeler and is looking for a street tread and therefore is not interested in a lift or big meats. this is his daily driver and he only goes back & forth to work with it.
Can you tell me where in the world you (or your friend) is going to find 20s for 7-bolts? As far as I know you can only find 17s, unless he's going to be doing a swap or custom drilled rims. I'm real curious as I'd like to upgrade my rims but there is practically 1 or 2 places I know of that make the 7 lug rims.
BTW he would need to do some sort of lift or cutting to his truck I'd imagine to be fitting 20's. Unless he's going with pencil thin tires.

Sorry to get you excited for nothing....
After readin your post I went over to his place and popped the centers and shor-e-nuff....7 bolt rims.... on a "3/4 ton" ...I never even knew that it was a 3/4 ton...I always kinda thought that it was a 150...
.............W..T..F.. Was Ford Thinking????
Eagles have been the only 7 bolt I can find...any other options that anyone else knows of????
As far as clearence, you can clear 20" rims all day long on his truck. The max overall diameter including the tire is 33" any higher than that and they'll be hitting the torsion bars. I have the exact opposite setup your friend wants, factory 17's & 33" tires (285x70x17) And I cannot fit my finger between the tire & torsion bar with the wheels turned all the way, but they never rub.
