Which muffler?

My brother has an 02 f-150 with the 5.4. I had to drive a few time this week while fixing mine, and noticed it had an exhaust leak. So I went under there and the muffler has holes in it. So what muffler would sound good in place of the stock one?

This straight pipe idea, it doesnt get raspy or anything does it?

I was thinking of flowmaster also, is it a Super 40, or original 40 that sounds good? I know the original 40 sounds good on my buddies 5.0 f-150.

I have a no muffler on my truck(cut it off right before org. muffler) and it almost sounds like a 40 series.

-sometimes when you rev it up high and when it idles back down it "Cackles" a little bit, but not enough to make me regret doing it
If you want, cut it off, and if you dont like it go get a 40 series.

I replaced my stock muffler with a Flowmaster (local shop did the swap for 130 cash installed). Sounds pretty good.

My son went with the straight pipe and it sounds pretty good. I also need a new muffler since mine has a hole in it and I will be going with the quietest muffler I can find. I used to like it loud but after raising 3 sons and listening to my wife it's great to be somewhere quite.

Yes sometimes quite is nice, as for a muffler i would not go straight pipe on it. sounds like hitting a cat with a paddle.

He messed his knee up playing football, so hes gotta have surgery now. This give me about a month to fix it now lol. I hate working on that truck, I need to jack it up to get under it, unlike mine.
