I have 285's on mine with no issues at all. I had to shim the bumper out a little but you can trim the inside corner and accomplish the same thing if that's easier for you. I had the bumper off to install lights anyway.
I have 285s too. Ill be putting a pic up soon as my camera is charged. I think it looks pretty good. My bumper is shimmed too but its not that hard to do.
on a 250 stock height i think the 265\75\16's look best, when you start shimming bumpers i feel it looks out of wack. the 265's are perfect fit on a standard suspension and dont rub the bumper.
as for stock rims i have 315\75\16's on mine, thats the equivalent to a 35\12.5. i wouldnt go any wider as the stockers arent quite wide enough to get a full footprint out of mine but i have no issue's running them
I am running 285s on my stock 350 with no problems, I didn't even shim the bumper, but I believe the 350 sits higher than a stock 250. like coonhunter said, if you get a some lift then go with a bigger tire, but with a stock heigth I would get 265s
I have 265's on my f250 with stock suspension and it looks real good. it would definately need to either be lifted or work on the bumper some to put 285's on there. My truck says it came from the factory with 235/85/16's on it which is about the same height as a 265/75/16 just 3 cm narrower.
