53-56 ford truck fenders
I was curious what everyones experiences have been with the various front fender offerings there are out there. Things like the fit, quality, etc of both steel and fiberglass. I live a few miles from LMC truck so I am interested in those because I can save on shipping. Any thoughts or suggestions? I have not been able to find front fenders made in the USA so far. That would be nice also.

As far as fenders go, the stock fenders fit the best. All the aftermarket I've seen or heard of people using have some type of fit problems or require work to make fit properly. Aftermarket sheet metal never aligns up perfect. Steel is always the best to go, although people use the fiberglass fenders for the wider rear fender and there are several in here who are using the fiberglass and like them. Fiberglass will crack and break easier than steel fenders. I have stock fenders on my truck all the way around. The rear fenders were cut and stretched 1.5" but are still stock fenders.

On your tag you have it f250. If your 56 is a f250, the f100 aftermarket fenders won't fit. The wheel wells will be to small. They don't make aftermarket fenders for the 250 and bigger trucks as far as I know. Obsolete and Classic Auto parts in Oklahoma City has the f100 repops for $300 each and look as good as the others going for more. They Take their parts trucks to a lot of swap meets in our midwest area. You can call them and get them there and save the shipping cost.

I bought mine from Midfify's (steel), they look real nice but I'm having a bit of trouble with the fitment but I'm sure it will work out in time. I do believe that they are of a lighter gauge than the originals also. Hope this helps.
