Ok...can someone please tell me some of the basics about the propane setups?

I am hearing one side say...It is a Vapor or it is a liquid to vapor....I am getting confused!

Please...help me out!

The propane has to be vapor when introduced to the engine, but there are systems that draw vapor directly from the tank, and systems that draw liquid from the tank and then vaporize it through a vaporizer regulator that is heated with coolant typically.

Sooo...if the system is Vapor...straight from the tank...You have to have the tank filled up differently?

Vapor draw systems can use BBQ tanks, which prevent liquid from being drawn. Liquid draw systems pretty much need a tank designed to allow liquid draw. Most propane tanks designed specifically for automotive use have a valve for both liquid and vapor draw.

Soooo...let me get this straight...the tanks are the same..Just set up differently. Inside?

Soooo...when you get them filled...Nothing different has to be done?

When you fill any propane tank it is being filled with Liquid Propane (LP). Just make sure the tank you get is set up to draw whatever your system is made to run on.

Right, based on where the valve draws from the tank, top for vapor, bottom for liquid.

be cautious of building your own kit... many diesel engines have been to the machine shop because of "home built propane kits" you might want to keep in mind that the kit is not the expensive part.. (if u shop around) its the tank, mounting the tank, line that is around $20 a foot, expensive fitttings saftey and valves that DOT says have to be there.. not to mention the custom chip... i have seen new bully dog kits for $400 on ebay... i have the MSD kit, i like it becasue i have complete control of everything.. i plug my laptop into the system and it tells me everything i want to know from line pressure to propane to RPM curve. the only bad thing is that on a hot day the liquid in the line will turn to vapor and the system will trip and shut off, but when its that hot outside the EGTs get to hot with the pane anyways... Good Luck!
