Everybody I talk to about fuel milage says the best thing to do is an exhuast system... I am looking for some info/input. I had a shovy i mean chevy that got great milage and sounded awesome as well, but i just cut off the exhaust right be hind the cat, is that ok to do to a V10
The "best" thing to do is ligten the right foot. 2nd would be to lighten the load. You're not going to gain anything significant by chopping the exhaust or adding an aftermarket kit.
You Have Joined the Club. It's the same old story you want power but you don,t like the cost Well....IF YOU WANT TO PLAY YOUR GOTTA PAY. My neighbor just purchsed a Toyota pickup with the V8 and is totally discusted with the mileage. Less than American pickups, I tried not to Laugh but could not help myself. He told me his son just picked up /08 Chev and the milage is way better than his RICER. If you find the magic milage solution please post.
I've heard the ricer (toyota) V8 is real bad on the pocket book as far as MPG.
My father in law has the new Tundra (traded his '05 F150 for it ). After driving it for about 10 months he says that his F150 had better mileage by about 1-2ish mpg. I told him not to but the Tundra, but now he is now looking to trade up to an '08 F250 6.4 !!!
There is a guy who drives past my house every night with a straight piped V10 Superduty. I live toward the edge of town where the speed limit goes from 25 to 55 mph, and of coarse the a hole hammers it and wakes up my 2 year old son. One of these days I'm gonna follow him home and do brake stands in front of his house with my Charger at 2 am. His truck is LOUD and I think that is one of the worst sounding trucks I have ever heard, not at all like a healthy V8. I would not do it.

I have to totally agree! The V10 2v or 3v flavor just does not sound good with a straight pipe coming out the back. It definitely is not a V8. Heck...even a straight through muffler does not help...much.
IMO...the best sounding V10's are either all OEM stock...or with a baffled muffler like a FlowMaster 70.
thanks for the info, i have heard one v10 the sounded like fecal matter, just yesterday. I am guessing that all he did was cut off the muffler cause i did not see any tail pipes or dually's hangen out back. I am not against spending money!!! I just am looking for the rumble for BUCK. I work o hard for my money to just waste it. THE SAME AS EVERY FORD OWNER OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well just do like I did to my 5.4L and straight pipe it 4" to two 2 1/2" goin out of 5" tips it sounds like a mean ****** and only really loud when I stomp on it. it gets them little rice burners out of the way oh yeah i'm not even running a cat only a 12" glass pack no difference in performance just a little louder with no effect on mpg
