1356 T-Case
My 1356 manual T-case in my 89 f-250 has been giving me problems since I bought the truck . The front of the tcase where the shifting linkage enters the tcase has worn an oval and allows for the shifting plate to fall away from the shifting forks. This leads to the tcase falling out of gear under operation. I fixed the problem by suring up the rod with wahers and it stays in while in 2 hi. But occasionally in thick sticky mud it pops 4 hi and I loose all power. My question is are the 1356 manual and automatic transfer case housings the same. I would like to keep my manual shift but was offered an automatic model. Can my manual linkages be placed on an automatic t-case.
