C6 Harsh Shift 2-3
I have the overheating problem pretty well cured. Although, it still runs a little warmer than I would like. I put in a TCI Towing Converter, and used an A/C Condenser as a tranny cooler. I resealed the tranny while I had it out, and cleaned it up. I took the valve body apart and cleaned it. Everything looked OK, but it still has a harsh shift on the 2-3 up shift.
Ironically when driving normally, all of the shift points are normal and it shifts smooth. The kick down works great and the shift back is smooth. The problem is when you are manually shifting from 2-3. Sometimes it is smooth; sometimes it is so harsh it chatters your teeth and you look behind to see if any parts have fell off.
All of the U-Joints are new, the centerline bearing is new the yoke is well lubed and checks ok. The Sterling rear end has just been rebuilt and the thing has traction bars on it, so slack in the Driveline is not the problem. This thing was doing it before the tear down and I was hoping the new fluid, filter and cleaning would clear the problem.
The tranny doesn’t slip and except for the harsh manual 2-3 shift it works great. Any ideas?
