Will It Work??

I have a 1990 F-150 and I just got 2 10" subwoofers. They are the Kicker Comp subs, rated at 150rms a peice. I think the stock alternator in the truck is 95amp, Will it be enough? I Know which amplifier I want to get it will be running at 200rms x 2. Will it be possible to run them without all the lights on the truck dimming?

I would sure hope so. What is the current draw of the amp?

IF your talking about INput Voltage then it is 14.4volts.
I don't know If the fuse rating will do anything but it is at 40amps

You will probably notice some slight headlight dimming, but 400w isn't that much. I've run a 1000w amp in my lil ol nissan frontier w/ very little dimming. Pick up a bigger battery if you want to store up a lil more juice.

If I picked up a Farad(I think thats what it is) would it stop the Dimming since it is like a giant Capacitor?

Caps don't work. Your better off getting a yellow or red top.

The stock alternator is fine for your amplifier.

The big three will have no noticeable effects when used with a 400 watt amp. Just hook it up and call it a day. The stock wiring and alternator is fine. Now if you are running 11,000 watts RMS like I am in my Excursion they you need to start upgrading some things. But for your application don’t worry about it.

Agree. I am running my Kicker 700.5 right now and have no issues at all with dimming. If you are having issues with dimming it is beyond a cap to help.
