I have a 2003 f150 supercrew. Fuse 29, the autoheadlamp, seatbelt alarm, transmission overdrive fuse is a 5 amp fuse that a few months back blew. A month later it blew again, then a week or so, a day or so, now within minutes or less it blows. I read another thread that addressed the issue but there is no dampness or corrosion from a possible window leak. I'm looking for a possible rubbed wire but to no avail so far. Any disconnection I can make to eliminate a circuit? Anyone that had this actual problem get it fixed? Any help is welcome. Thanks.....TIM
Hello,
The rub in the wire was between where it comes out of the shift arm and the first wire fastener. I used a sheath off a larger braded electrical wire cut to about 1.5 inches and slit long ways. Slid it over the wire with that was rubbed and used electric tape to hold it secure. I would not have found it without popping the pin out of the shift arm and removing the shift arm so I could look at the wire closely. By the way, the keeper on the bottom of the pin, it looks like a black metal clip, does not need to be removed before the pin pops out. The pin just pops out with a small flat head screw driver. Thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction. Much appreciated.....TIM
