Swap C6 for 4 speed?

Swap C6 for 4 speed?
I have a 1985 F250 diesel. I understand the 3 speed C6 is a good tranny but wasn't there a 4 speed (OD) auto avail for 1985 too? What is the name of that tranny? It should fit if I decide to change right? Thanks for the input!

No, there wasn't a 4 speed overdrive in '85. The first year of the 4 speed overdrive was 1989. It was called the E4OD.
With a bunch of modifications, including installing a computer to run it, it will fit in your truck.
