best thread/new info for '89 F150 propane conversion
I am interested in converting my "new" 89 F150 Long Bed to propane.
It is easy to get, as I am rural, and I have a 1000 gallon tank on the
farm.
1. what is the best conversion thread in this forum or elsewhere (URL please)
2. what is the best equipment for the conversion.
3. other than the obvious, mileage, spark plugs, etc. what do I need to know?
My tenative plan is to convert ASAP my 89 F150 5.0 Litre.
thanks!
terry
Either way it would be a fairly big job. Carb would be the easier and cheaper way to go though.
As far as I know, you would need a spot to mount the propane tank, new fuel lines, a vaporizor, carburetor, new intake manifold, throttle linkage + several other odds and ends to make it all work.
I have never heard of a way to do it with EFI but I am sure it could be done.
