Hey guys so about 2 weeks ago I went off roading and put it into 4x4 low. After I was done it had a hard time coming out. Finally it just went into 2 wheel drive. However when i try to switch it back into 4x4 low now it doesnt go, it just stays in 4x4 high. Any ideas?
1. Bring vehicle to a complete stop.
2. depress brake pedal.
3. Place gearshift in (N) position or press clutch if manual transmission.
4. Move 4WD control to the 4X4 high or 2wd position
5. Hold the shift conditions until the low range light shuts off
6. If low range light does not shut off within 15 seconds drive vehicle above 5 mph then repeat steps 1 thru 5.
I've known of several people having trouble with the shift, be it into or out of 4wL. Some have said it helps to hold the brake really hard, but I have had good luck on our shift on the fly vehicles by:
1: coming to a complete stop and depressing the brake while shifting to N
and, if that does not allow shifting,
2: shift to reverse and roll a foot or so and going back to N and depressing the brake once again.
Allowing a little movement, whether it be fore or aft, seems to help the shift process. Hope this helps.
i have found that coming to a complete stop, depressing the brake pedal, shifting into neutral, and selecting 4low, release the brake pedal and allow the truck to roll very slowling forward or backward depending on the incline. 4low engauges most of time, but it can still be stubern some days. I don't use 4low much, but some times engauge it just make sure it works
i use all my gears when in 4low, once it gets smoother i'll go 35mph until i need to crawl again, if it's short distances its not worth the hastle to switch between low range and hi range back and forth.

No, only when trying to engage 4x4low. Then you just go.
I only use 4low when getting my boat out of the water, it's 10k lbs.
