put about 600 miles on the truck & it developed a miss
so I took it back to the shop (independant) for repair.
the tech calls on thursday and tells me it's ready to pick up,
I tell him to keep it over the weekend to drive and make sure
it's ok.
Saturday another phone call, the dealership he bought the heads from
admits to a problem with the heads.
They reccomend replacing one head which they will cover + the
labor, but not cover the 2,000 I'm getting charged for the original repair
of their defective head.
so the dealership is gonna pay the independent shop for the labor to replace the defective head they sold to them? Why didn't you have to pay the 2k the first time around? Did the dealership cover it? lol I'm confused. I think the dealership should have to pay for their mistake. good luck man.
I think they should pay for it too,the 2,000 is for the repair after the head & stud job
that I only got 600 miles out of.
The dealership was not very forthcoming with info till my tech leaned on them fairly hard, and in their eyes they don't want to cover anything from the past.
All this came up just before I was to get the truck back.
I was going to pick it up & pay the bill but that was before the dealership copped to
the problem,& now they dont want to cover that expense.
My tech & I are going to push them as hard as we can but they don't want to budge.
Why were the heads replaced in the first place? I assume you were having a problem and not just "upgrading". My apologies if I am missing something ,,,,,,,, looks like you were out of warrantee for the first repair. Had you been talking to the dealership about problems before 100,000 miles?

EDIT:
You answered my question as I was typing. Document EVERYTHING. All your conversations, etc. Type it all up and send letters of complaint to the Dealership, Ford, and especially the BBB as was suggested by MRXLH. I think written letters are often taken more seriously than the verbal approach by itself.
