For about a week now when I started using the AC a vinegar smell comes out of the vents. It goes away after about 5 seconds of the AC running, but I cant figure out whats the cause. What say you guys??
Do you tend to stop the truck with the A/C running? I can see the condensed water on the coil along with who knows what kind of pollutants making a bit of a stink. Maybe the cooler weather keeps it wetter than it was in hotter days? Just guessing.
I think all my vehicles will stink at startup if I stop them with the A/C running, so I usually try to remember to shut the A/C off a mile or so before I get to where I'm going to try to dry out the works a bit.
I get a musty smell when I first turn it on in all my vehicles. I have heard that the stuff called Ozium works great ( link ). You could probably spray some Lysol type spray in there also to see if it stops for a while.
