I had a TTB f250 with 35 in bfgs and 6in of lift. I had my leaf spring set right a dana 60 installed, cross over steering (I guess) and gears (4.88 and locker in rear). My steering is looser by far, I do not have any steering stabilizers like the duals I had before. And I do not have the inverted y set up. My steering box is probably in need of replacing but I do not want to replace. I am getting tire shimmy and if I hit a bump just right it starts to shaking. Can I adjust the play out of my steering box? Do I need steering stabilizers?
... ...IMHO > > > YES for the Steering Stabilizer's ( i would say 2-of=1pair/dual's of ), considering you are stating you are running 35" tire & a 6" Lift; ........You can try and adjust for as much as possible on the box, but probably won't help much if you KNOW the box is in need of replacement; ........and lastly, i would make sure of and check to see if the front Wheel_Bearing's ARE adjust'd accordingly, for THIS could very well be your initial "Shimmy"; ..........make sure of all the front end part's as well are NOT too far worn'd/loose...... ......as i state'd, imho....... ......
Im thinking about running the stabilizers. I looked on one site and they had a single for 30 bucks and duals for 175. How would I adjust my wheel bearings? I could turn my steering column with the truck turned off and my hand on the column. How would I adjust my steering box?
