My name is Justin i'm 21 years old and I live in Hutchinson. Almost 3 months ago I bought a 2000 Ford F-150 Single Cab XL with the 4.6L V8 & Automatic Transmission. I bought it with 106,000 miles on it and so far i'm up to 109,455 with no problems.
I'm new to Ford's, because i've been a Chevrolet guy for most of my life. In fact I have a 1988 Chevrolet Camaro that is my toy/project car. I love my truck, but i'd like to give it a little more horsepower. I've looked at Air Intakes, and Cat-Back Exhaust for it. But from there i'm kind of stuck, this is also my first SOHC V8. So if I ask alot of stupid questions, please show mercy, this is all a new world to me.
I'm happy to be here, and I look forward to making new friends while I learn new stuff about my truck.
Welcome! Through another piece of wood on the fire and set and visit a while. This is a great place to hang out. I hope to see you soon at a GTG (Get To Gether).
Thanks for the warm welcome, and if i'm able to make it, i'd love to be at one of the GTG's. Right now i'm not looking to spend all that much on Mods for the truck. Maybe one or two appearence things, and that's it since Fall & Winter is quickly coming upon us. On top of that, i'm trying to get ready to move after the beginning of the year. I've still got alot of furniture to buy, and since getting your own place requires furniture amongst other things. You can see where my priorities are, and why they need to be there.
Welcome aboard man!!! IF you have any questions feel free to fire away, there are no dumb questions round here. As far as an intake and catback it would be a great start, you won't see much of a power or miliage gain however if you decide to go with a programer down the road the intake and exhaust will really help make the most of it!!
Welcome Justin. There are a bunch of good folks here and we hope to continue to hear more about your upgrades and adventures with your truck. You might also take a look at the 4.9/5.4 forum here for folks that have done what you are looking to do. I can't tell you how much money and time I've saved over the years because of the good advice and help I've received here at FTE and the good friends I've made at the KS chapter.
Welcome Justin! I have had great luck with my 99 and it has 130K on the ticker although I have the 5.4 in mine they are still great trucks. Is yours 4x4?
Welcome Justin, I also have a 4.6/auto combo in my 97. I did the intake and exhaust, but where I really got my gains was from an SCT performance chip, and a gear swap from 3.55 to 3.73.

Nope it's just a 2WD. And thanks again to everybody for the warm welcome.
