4.9L modifications

I have a 1993 F-150 with the 4.9L engine with about 155,000 miles on it. I am in college so i don't have much money. The only modification on the engine is a K&N air filter. What are some parts that are cheap that would get me more power and better gas mileage? This is my only vehicle so the modifications can't take to long. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look for parts that help the motor develop more torque!! That is the wow off the line power that will leave your buddies impressed!! Since these 300's are already torque crazy motors adding a cam with more of a rv, towing type power delivery Don't go too crazy with lift or anything You should take 2 days tops to swap and $75.00!! If you add roller rockers they supposedly are good for a couple of H.P. if you can afford them! Look into maybe a new exhaust long and skinny for torque with minimal bends and a free flowing muffler!! Maybe a msd or accel performance coil for some extra fuel burning fire(more complete combustion=more mpg and power) Get a big trans cooler and make sure your cooling system is top notch, So if you do drive like it's stolen it will keep it's cool!!! Change to a 5w30 semi syn oil to reduce internal motor drag supposedly good for better mpg, But I would recommend just running 15w40 diesel oil
for a older motor it will help protect it and you can extend your drain interval, I run mine 5000 miles and have gone way longer!! It is usually pretty cheap!!
