With 17 model years and three distinct "generations", that could be a tough question to answer without knowing what year Explorer you're talking about.

He has a 94 but is putting in a motor from a 92. At this point, it could be on the garage floor. LOL, J/K. It should be under the hood, on the left hand side. It will be a black rectangular box. Pop the lid and there will be a list telling you which relay is which.
