Guys, I have some good news - AT & T is thinking of hiring me back.

Bad news - job has 100% travel and I'll be in LA all of the time only returning every other weekend.

Now, this would be good for a single guy.... but, it will be hard for me, a married guy. However, after six months I can quit or, work a transfer back to my area I think. Plus, I can reinstate my pension after six months.

I'm so confused and I'm sorry this isn't FORD talk but, it might effect my ability to help on the Project Truck.

Say it isn't so ......... Actually, we'll see what they come to the table with. It could be very good.

I was afraid you'd say that. Golden Rule. I plan on keeping my house up here. The wife will not move. It will be tough for a few months .... But, I'll have plenty of money to mod when I get back in six months and I can still keep in touch with my buddies here while I'm working late at night doing the PM thing for Computer Networks @ LAUSD.

We'll see, nothing set in stone ....

 

You could join Dan and sing for your supper. . . . . .

 

So many good times this summer. Yeah, if I go I'll make sure to get back for Dan's gig at the COW Palace. MOOOOOVE OVER Dan's coming to a showroom near you. Lol !!!!

 

One more thing to think about - I have been retired 4 years now but when I left the bay area I left my resume on several websites. For the first time since I retired I have had several head hunters contact me to see if I was available.

From that I figure that jobs have turned the corner and there are good jobs to be found in the technical or semiconductor industry. You might find something close to home!

 

That's a tough decision.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you to weigh all the pros and cons.

 

The bright spot is that LA and SF are an easy and cheap commute via air. It could be worse. You could be headed for Manhattan.

 

I've been with AT&T(formerly SBC[formerly Pacific Bell]) for 10.5 yrs now. Cant say I could move away(especially with a 6 mile commute), but there's not many good job opportunities around here. If I had a good enuf offer, I'd go. Weigh the options!

 

We'll see. I'm probably not going to get my worth even if they meet the rate I quoted them. There was a lot of twists and turns. I think they want me but, I don't think they'll pay me what I'm worth at this point. So, more than likely I'll be beating the bushes this next week.

I'm going to just relax today. Tomorrow I'll start putting my game plan in action.

Tough weekend ... Someone made offer on condo in Palm Springs we're trying to sell.
I think that's falling through as well. Really won't know on either until end of this next week.

There has to be better jobs out there than this one .... ;-(
