well I was drivin' home yesterday and noticed the ac wasn't working as well as it normally did, and then today I had very little cold air, funny thing was that when I was just idling it seemed like the air would get cooler then as I took off the coolness was lost again, I think it is probably just a slow leak somewhere, but I just wanted to check and see if there any 'normal' AC problems, I did a forum search but didn't come up with anything. thanks.
btw the rig is a 97 psd, cc, 5-speed.
Most likely low on refrigerant. From what you said it seems like the compressor is kicking on but make sure it is just incase. If it is not make sure you are getting power to it. If all checks out evacuate and recharge the system adding dye so you can find the leak.
thanks for the replies, I have a guy I use for AC service, I figure it is just low on refrigerant, I just wanted to make sure there weren't any typical issues that are associated with these trucks
When I got my truck a year and half ago my AC was warm I went to Autozone took 3-4 cans which meant almost empty, havent had a problem since. So a little R134a and youll be ready to go.
