RPM Problem...

I've decided I have a love-hate (mostly hate) relationship with my B2... It's an '86 Eddie Bauer, and I'm having issues. I was going down the highway today and my Bronco II completely cut out, RPM's dropped to 0 but I still had power steering, radio, ect. Anyways, it stayed at 0 (I had no throttle response or anything of the sort) for about 3-4 seconds, then returned like nothing happened. Less then a second later, it happened again, and continued happening in succession (but at random times, usually between 2-10 seconds apart) Any ideas what it is and what it'll take to fix? Thanks for any help

Sounds like an intermittent electrical issue.

1st thing I might do would be to pull codes from the computer. There might be a clue in memory.

Check the battery connection, next time it happens try wiggling the ign cyl. switch when it happens.

Might be a bad TFI, but, I would suspect either an electrical wire or fuel pump problem first. Check the power connector on the in the rail fuel pump.
