This is an easy question. Took out my complete rocker shaft assembly and complete rebuilt / clean it.. but dumb me I can't remember what rocker shaft support the special shanked bolt thats used for oiling goes in.
I belive it was the second shaft support from the front of the engine?
Brian,
So we don't get confused about numbers and counting there is a more fool proof way to determine the correct bolt hole. That reduced shank bolt you are refering to is an oil clearance area for oil to get to the rocker shafts. Look on the head at the bolt holes. One of them will have an second smaller hole beside it. That's the one this reduced shank bolt goes in. That hole is the oil supply hole. Oil comes out that hole, goes around the reduced shank, and flows into the rocker shafts.
Hope this helps,
Lee
Mine had TWO reduced shaft bolts, one longer than the other. Both the reduced shaft bolts go on the inner holes, but the longer one goes to the oil feed hole.
