Power Slot Cryos
[DISCLAIMER: This is a heads-up ONLY not intended to start a flame war!]
I have about 55k on my previously beloved Power Slot Cryo Rotors. About 5k ago they started to pulse like they were warped. I thought it had to be something else. Maybe loose something or another but I didn't have time to pull her apart and check it out. Fast forward 5k and it is definitely warped rotors. My steering wheel shakes about 5 degrees either way when stopping.
I bought the PS Rotors and Hawk SD pads in January of 06 and they were sublime for the first full year and then some. But the honey moon was soon over. I called my retailer to see if there is a warranty on them and the warranty only lasts 3,000 miles. This is not at all unreasonable for a normal rotor but I would have thought the cryo rotors would have more. Maybe not a full 55,000 warranty but more than 3k.
ANYWAY, I am not dispariging PS rotors at all. I just want to put out there that they may not last the life of your truck. Just for what it is worth, I don't tow much of anything. My truck gets me and my wife and kids anywhere we want to go with anything we want to put in back (ATVs, Mower, Luggage, adult beverages). I did use the truck to pull more but that was prior to installing the PS rotors. My job description has since changed.
Oh, also, I have been pretty good about checking the pads and caliper slides thoughout the time period as well as torqueing the lugs to 140 lb-ft.
