was getting pricing from the ford parts guys earlier on 08 parts..
you know, tailgate, mirrors, fender badges etc....
the guy said he would rather just give me a really good deal to trade my 04 in on 08.. i laughed at him.
said no, i'd rather pay to make mine look like one, that actually risk owning one now that ford has decided to void warranties for things as simple as window tint or seat covers..
yes i am exagerating a little here guys, but not much. supposedly ANY mods at all to the 08 are grounds for warranty denial i've heard.
I also read that the PCM on the 08 has embedded firmware that will detect a user intrusion.
Sound like the Ford/Navistar relationship has reached the end, or perhaps Ford has learned a lesson from the counter lawsuit from Navistar.
Makes me love my 04, I could never own a truck that I couldnt modify. I also plan to add some 08 hardware to my truck, at least mirrors and tailights. Im still wondering if I could swap in an 08 dash assembly.....
what is involved in changing to 08 mirrors? how much cost?
i own an 05 f-350 p/s 4x4 rwd cc and would like the 08 mirrors for towing reasons. i tow a 36' 5th. wheel and the truck does a good job. there are times that i would like for the tow haul shift to kick in sooner.
thanks
There not that hard to do. Unbolt the old oes and then bolt in the new ones. Then rewire the new one in and thats it. Pics in my gallery if you want to see 08 mirrors on my 04 X
Anybody ever test drive an 08'? I could really feel the dual stage turbo, especially the low side. I like it but couldn't get into the 08'. The front end just didn't do it for me and I've fallen in love my the 6.0 motor. Anybody else like their 6.0 better than the 6.4?
