I got a 3 speed manuel from the wrecking yard out of a 61-66 F100. I need to replace the rear output shaft seal but there are three types of 3 speeds Borg warner t 57, t 59 and one other. the seals are different for all three. Can anyone tell me how to identify which 3spd tranny I have? are ther casting numbers I can cross? or maybee some identifying features to look for? any info would be helpfull.
Thanks all
thanks, I took the number off of the seal P/N 15005, I'll check around the tranny for a casing stamp. Also it is a top-loaded trans with a tin cover and shifter arms on the driver side. Floor shift when I bought it but I suspect an original column shift
There is a Ford 3 speed from that era, known as the "303" as it is 3.03 inches from one shaft to the other... All synchro, and has the tin top, top loaded, side shifters. Any 3 gear from that era would be column shift.
This looks to be a partial id chart, as only Bronco's are listed in the truck dept.
