I was thinking about useing one on a 351W going in my bronco, I know it's a little big. (750 cfm) but i was thinking that i could jet down the primaries? and run it that way.
A Q-Jet metered for a small block is 750 CFM it isn't TOO BIG. I have run on one on my wife's 360 Dodge D250. 750 CFM is the smallest CFM made & is stock on 87-88 D250 Dodge with both 318/360 4bbl. Also those engines come from the factory with the same cam that was used in the 340 6/pac engines.
You may be able to get a Locar kickdown cable and make it work.
On a dodge, their linkage uses a really long stud on the cable side of the linkage (top side of carb linkage) and it pushes a slotted rod back to control line pressure. A must have on a 904 or 727 unless you have a manual valvebody.
The only problem I see with a cable is that kickdown on a C-6 the rod moves down. Chevy uses a cable but on the 350 turbo the kick down pulls up. The only thing I can think of is modifying the carb throttle shaft to except the Ford kickdown lever. If you did use a cable to push down it would have to be non flex type cable.
