You guys laughed (namely Ryan) at my predictions for 20 mpg from my truck.
Well there is a guy in the 48-60 forum doing 24 US mpg in his 1960 panel truck. It has a 400/C-6 with small 4 barrel, 2.75:1 gear and 235/75/15 tires. He's turning 2071 rpm at 65 mph.
So if I have a fuel injected 331 with O/D, 3.73:1 and 215/85/16. I'll be turning 1819 rpm at 65 mph. I should be at least close.
I think it would be really funny if got better mileage than my brother's Nissan Frontier.
30-32 mpg Cdn. I find hard to believe but whatever, read the guys post he did it right i guess.
I know some 460s back in the sevenites got mid twenties with expiermental carberators.

well...no BS here, but i pulled a sweet 22mpg heading home, and 21 comming back...lousy headwind killed it from brandon to here. this was with the bikes(about 550lbs) hanging off the back, and the box full of miscellaneous junk...
sure do dustin. i know a mechanic in town that has a '00 f150 short bed, reg cab, 4.6l manual. he claims to have gotten 27 on the highway. i know there'd be lots of naysayers for that, but i'll believe it. if i can get 25 with mine, a truck thats so much lighter should be good.
I dont know if I would believe 27. I would have to see it to believe it, but in ideal conditions it is definatly possible. Definatly wouldnt be an average though.
