looking at adding a tune, 40 tow isnt cutting it.
whos towing with 80 tow, and how do you like the power, please add tow weight, egts and boost if you know them.
I have 60t and after a 3000mi trip to texas and grand canyon I realized that the 80 econo is just as good if not better. I towed my TH around 8k lbs my egt's on the flat was a hair under 1000*. On grades in 3rd I was at 70mph 950*. I am gonna send my chip back and get rid of the 60t and get 140extreme instead. These were my results so take it for what its worth, see my sig for mods but I liked the 80E alot while towing.
P.S. my tranny temps got to 180* in the Cali desert 115* heat so not too bad at all.
much appreciated, sending out for a new tune, 80 tow sounds like what i want, have any of you noticed any smoke with 80 tow, as i havent noticed but a little with the 80 econo. even though difference is only timing and tranny control.

Diane, Do you actually get any improved milage in the 80 Econo? Actually, anyone, did you get improved MPG with the 80 Econo setting? Every turner has that claim, I have learned that so far, no one has produced....it just seems to trick their on board monitor. I dont think I have heard from anyone though with DP's tune..
I got better mileage with my predator. You can't trust those onboard computers for mileage, good ol' paper and pencil. I plan to get DP tuner after I figure out my hard start issue. Some have reported 20+ mpg with the 80 econo.

Some of our customers have reported back an average from 2-4. Some got none and a few have reported more than 4. The most reported back was 6 better using the 80 E on a cross country trip. You will not get an acurate reading from your on board monitor after adding a programmer or chip. I am not so sure all will be completely acurate stock. The best way to calculate is pen and paper.

Hahahaha. Yeah right. It runs about as fast as my 120R setting and I can't keep my foot out of it. Luckily, PAY ATTENTION FOLKS, even though I drive it like an idiot now, and it runs very well. I have yet to see worse mileage than before the chip. If I am super careful, I can get up to 2mpgs better than before.
Summary: runs much better, no economic loss and potential gain in MPGs. All this while driving around grinning.
BTW, where's Smokin III this year Diane? Same place?
BigTorque, You didn't mention WHAT you are towing. I pull a 12000 lb plus 5th wheel. 40 tow is as high as I can go without exceeding 1200 degrees egt. Using the 40 tow in OD, the tranny kicks down on grades before reaching that temperature, so I can cruise along without having to pay close attention to the egt guage. I get 11 mpg plus pulling the 5th, and 19 mpg empty on the freeway. Pay attention to what Diane said; 80 tow would certainly be excessive for the load I tow.
