OK TO START OUT I WANT TO THANK THE PERSON WHO POSTED THE FIX FOR THE POWER DOOR LOCK BY TAKING THE ACTUATOR APART. IT WAS A GREAT FIX AND THEY ARE WORKING GREAT.

Now for the loop in the plans. I did the key on and off cycle you guys told me about, but my truck does the cycle lock and unlock to enter program mode after 5 cycles not 8. Is this telling me something else or what. I also stopped at the dealer today and they looked up by my vin# and told me my truck didn';t come with keyless. But if that is the case what is the truck doing after 5 cycles then. Thanks again you guys

Another question? Where is the box for the keyless located? Maybe I can look and see if it even has a box, and if it has a box would the part number for it and the key fob be located on it?

I think the box is located under the dash in the middle over the tranny hump. It should be an offwhiteish color square box. But don't quote me on that.

Correct, but it can vary by year and on my 2000 there are no codes written on the box.

My truck came with two keyless entry remots, neither works.

Simple, Put your key in the Ignition Cyl. turn the key from stop to run 8 times ending on the run position. (NOT start, Also make sure that your doors are unlocked) After doing this the locks should cycle up and down once. This has entered your Truck into program mode where you can add or reprogram new Key fabs (remotes) To Learn the further instructions vistis this:

http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vd...E&menuIndex1=18

There you can view a copy of your owners manuel or ANY owners manuel, free of charge.Should Your Truck NOT enter the program mode it would indicate you do not have RKE (remote keyless entry). I Hoped this helped you, should you have and questions please feel free to contact me. Also, Give a good rep to me in the upper Right hand corner of this post, Have a Great Day.
This is great info but I would like to read up more on it and that link does not work. Can you check it and put it out again please.

I also think that my remotes may both need new batteries??

Here is the next problem in the saga. Fixed the locks and now my dome lights and the lights on the third brake light will not turn off when I shut the door. I even wait a time and they stay on. The other thing is when I drive down the road the door ajar light stays on and the dome light keeps clicking on and off. This problem is getting bigger and bigger.

I beleive this is the common problem of the door switch which is part of the door latch.
The fix that they recommended here involves spraying the latch assembly with lots of WD40 and working the latch. Ours was bad enough that it took an air hose as well as the WD40 to get it to work. Hope this helps.

I tried the wd-40 fix and it didn't seem to help.

I would try to pull on the doors while closed to see if the light comes on to find the defective switch. Then I would replace the switch with a new one. Jim

But the problem is that the light stays on all the time.
