hello guys im courious how does the dip stick on a 360 engine seal mine just pulls out and i have a bad oil leak does any one make an after market one thanks

I'm not sure what type of vehicle you have, but on my '76 F150 4x4, the dipstick fed into the rear of the oil pan. I just replaced the motor (360) with a 390, and put it in the same place. I just made sure everything was really clean, and put some RTV around the tube after I had it well seated. I used a putty knife to make it look decent. Hope it helps.
Nope, no O-rings. I did similar to Dutchman, get the tube nice and clean, make sure it will seat all of the way down the hole, then what I did was to apply a thin layer of RTV sealant on the outside of the tube, about 1/4 of an inch back from the bottom of the tube, insert it down the hole and rotate it back and forth one time to evenly distribute the RTV, then rotate it into it's proper position, wipe off any excess and let it dry. This will give you an almost invivsble seal. Good luck!
I got a similar problem. In my '76 f-250 the dipstick was in the pan. I took it out, sealed the hole and moved it to the block by the oil filter. I got the tube in and got it sealed up but the stick won't go in. I don't know if the hole is stopped up or what, I'll check it tomorrow.:-X23

that will only work if you put the front sump pan on it. what is happeining is your stick is hitting the bottom of the pan before it goes in all the way. you can run a front sump pan on it but the original one is better for a 4x4.
It can't be hitting the bottom of the pan because it's not getting any oil on it and I've already put in 6 quarts. I have tried the stock stick and a shorter one.
