What type of brakes do you have? I believe after 00, Ford put disc brakes in the back, but I'm not sure.
I would check the condition of everything in the rear end -- U- Joints, the axle splines, the differential gears, leaf springs, and the condition of your brakes. If you've got disc brakes and your rotor is warped, it'll cause that egg-shaped feel. I've got the same problem on my 97, except it's the left front rotor that's bad.
to me it seems worse when i first start driving it at low speeds but it actually is there all the time...its weird the other day i drove it and could barely notice it...like i said its driving me nuts
i had the u joints checked and replaced all the rotors and pads on the back....its a freaking mystery to me....it sometimes makes me want to trade it in...but i do love this truck
well sience you had the tires replaced, what brand are they? and even though you have had them balanced they may have excessive road force. that means there may be an imperfection in the tire that while normal balanceing will not catch, you will still feel it while driving. this can usually be checked at local tire shop or at a dealership. take it back to the place that put the tires on and see if they can check it for you. i see alot of NEW tires lately that have excessive road force.
