88 Ranger ECM?

I have a carbed 88 Ranger. It does have some sort of ECM on the eright (pass side) fender. I have installed a 74ish juiced up Pinto engine. I am using the Pinto carb. I believe several of the wires from the ECM went to the carb and some to vacuum/ water temp tees on the bottom of the intake. Will thi make any differance if these are not hooked up. Is the ECM easly bypassed or disconected.

If you are using the pinto motor Just run it like it was in the pinto!!! Are you haveing problems with the gauges or something not reading right. The temp sender might send different resistance levels for temps than the stock one. I have seen that a couple times just swap the one in that was in the truck motor!

So far it appears this ECM iff thats what it is just runs some stuff that goes to the EVAP and possibly some water heated vacuum tees. Got it started only problem ewass bad gas and cant get it to idle right. The idle issue was a problem from before using a 5200 Holley. With a high speed towing cam I fear the power valve is opening and screwing up the idle.
