Diesels are a bit more forgiving and all the engines will turn the tires, but they'll appreciate gears.
After poking around on big meats, you'll really like the feeling of regearing. I ran 4.88 w/ v-10 and 38's, you might get a little more mileage w/ 4.56's. Powerstroke would probably like some 4.11's.
I have 37's and I am going with the 4.56's Just because 1. I tow ALOT 2. I like to jump off the line 3. I drive like an old lady on the freeway 65-70 tops. Should put me around 1850 on the rpms.

Really, now I have to do some more research. Everything that I have read says that 4.30 would be a touch to high and 4.56 a touch to low. Maybe I should've asked more people what they were running but I was just using the rpm calculator on intercos websight.
ive been very happy with the 430s also used the truspeed for the speedo and checked it with a gps and its about as close as a guy can get i think.nice truck bye the way!!!
Say you had 33 inch tires and went to 37 inch tires - you have 3.73 gears. You just changed your effective gearing to 3.32. You would need a 4.10 gear ratio JUST to get close to the stock effective ratio.
