New leak?
Well I fixed the fuel leak in the valley, no more leaks there, but now I have noticed a leak from the back of the engine, and the oil (It looks like dirty oil ) is running down between the starter and tranny, it comes from outside of the cover of the torque converter not from inside, at first I thougt was the remaning fuel from the valley, but has passed several weeks and it leaks a few drops in a week (not my daily driver) when sitting and it is darker than the other time. I have checked the vc gaskets and the oil gallery plug in the back of the head, they are ok and the valley remanins like a bone, it seems to come from the rear part of the pan, I dont think it is the rear main seal, : any ideas where thats coming from ?

Thanks Rick but as I satated that the vc gaskets and the oil galley plug in the back of the head, they are ok and the valley remanins like a bone. I have read that that TC cover sometimes erosions the pan, Ill check that.

ok, I also reviewed the turbo and no leaks, so pretty sure (if its not the corrosion in the pan) it will be the real main seal, and I think I going to live with that leak until some tranny issue comes on and change it. Thanks again, I m going to wait for another inputs, maybe some others chime in.
Don't want to be a smart azz but are you sure the valley is dry, there a some pretty deep holes in there that can hold a lot of fluid unless you're doing wheelies
Try parking the truck on a steep incline or raise it up as high as you can with a jack and flush out valley with a cleaner or water. IF you find it's a rear main leak there are some additives for the oil that will slow it dowm a bit.

Thanks Jim, I will try that, but Im pretty sure the valley is dry, anyway Ill do it. If I add some additive it hurt any thing else or I also can try it at the same time?. The oil has almost 3000 miles and I was planning to change it in that mileage, so maybe Ill wait till then to add the additive, what do you think?

Not sure if it will hurt our diesels but it's worked in some gassers I've repaired. Basically it swells the seal making it seal better....but It's a temporary fix. When the seal starts to leak again, and it will, the leak will be worse.
