I'm another one for the keep it til it actualy croaks on it's own side of the field. After taking the hit on trade in, having to deal with doing all those mods over again and the bucks that you have to pay out for those again. Another big reason is that it is a new engine, while so far, it appears to be alright, I still like to wait a couple of yrs(of course by then I think they are changing engines yet again after that one) and see if all is worked out, but that is just my own way of thinking on it. I've spent some of bucks on mine and going to be spending even more bucks on it by the time it gets done saturday, so I know a little bit about where your coming from(I just haven't showed signs of being interested in the newer trucks yet). Bottomline keep her and just keep on modding her til all the plastic surgery is done.
[QUOTE=Storm]I haven't a clue.. I've just been shopping around online.. Found some loaded for 45-50k.. I think I could get bout 20k or so for mine.. Maybe.. Then of course I'd use X Plan for it.. I'm going to head down this weekend and talk to a dealership.. See what I would be looking at if I actually did it.."
BEWARE, if you actually go down to the dealership to talk about it you will not get out without one!
It's much cheaper to add 05-07 grill and headlights to yours and keep on truckin'
Thanks for all the comments.. The more ya'll say the more I see I got to much in this truck to just let it go.. I think I'm going back to my original plans of building my new engine instead.. It wouldn't be right to get rid of this truck..
That's right Strom, you always have a spare truck around so if you get out of control with the old one you still get to work the next day to make money to fix the old one, LOL. Works for me, about you 6L PWR!
Ive been having this same problem Storm, Im always driving by our Ford dealership and some of those 08s are just amazing...... especially when you sit inside. But then I think about the 08 regeneration crap and my 6.0 suddenly seems much better.
The other day we're out dringin through Hooterville. The local Hooterville Ford dealer (who literally has on average 5 new cars and 8 used cars on the minscule lot) has a brand stinking new F-450 4x4 in dark red. Just an awesome looking truck!
First thing ya'll are doing wrong is going to look at them on the sales lot and even sitting in them. What are ya'll doing? Are you shoping to see if a '08 SD is what you want, no I don't think so, you know you are going to get a SD, so why tease yourself by looking at them. Drive by and wait until you are ready to write the check and then just order yourself one, don't tease yourself!!
Just think about it this way. For what you'll spend on the '08 you can do sooooo many more evil nasty things to the '04. I can still here that little voice in my ear from 5 hours away--hehehe.
