Trans help

Why won't my trans go into park or 1st gear? It done it all at once, and my linkage is not in a bind. It moves freely though all the other gears.

it might be out of adjustment..lay under there..you'll see a rod..there will be a round looking thing on there with a bolt that tightens down on that..loosen it..put the vehicle in park and make sure the shifter is foward and locked in park and retighten it. I had to do this to mine. Then i just got tired of the set up and got a B&M floor shift kit for it.

i'll check that, but when i move my shifter it stops on "R" and i can pull it back and it stops on "2". I've lost travel somehow. Thanks.

pull that rod loose like i said..then manually check the gears on the transmission by pushing the lever on the side of the transmission thru the gears to make sure nothing was lost in the trans. More then likely the floor shifter is worn out....that's why i went with the B&M in mine..the flloor shifter was worn out.
