Smile It's Here!!

Last night my new 05 F350 CC LB got here. Took it for a quick ride then wife said i had to go to bed. Just like the kids on a school nite. Anyway i am off today so lots of time to play.
The owners manual is not with it and i am going to change most of the fluids since i don't have any service records about it. Can anyone give me the recomended types for the coolant, trans, front and rear diff, and oil etc. I'll probably run to town so I may stop at the ford shop anyway.
Thanks

Kevin

Coolant--Ford Gold. Trans--Mercon SP for the 5R110 automatic Diff's 75w140 synthetic, but check manual for change intervals and you'll need LS modifier if you have limited slip. Engine oil 15w40 or 5w40 synthetic--change 5K MAX intervals irregardless of oil type. Oil filter--use only OEM manufactured by RACOR sold under motorcraft, fram, some purolator, IH. Fuel filters--motorcraft or IH, IH are about half the price and same filter as motorcraft. Be aware that using amsoil may void your manufacturers warranty since it's not API approved.

Talked with the Ford dealership here today and there saying to us 10w30 diesel grade all the time. What's with that, why are they saying this?

Only if you're where it's really cold all the time. You can check the owners manual or do a search for oil here, but that's just toooooo light of an oil for a 6.0 in MY experience (unless it's really really cold). No way I'd run it in the summer PERIOD. 6.0L engines shear oil to a 30wt very quickly anyway.

I see you're located in Canada. I'll let some of the Canadian members chime in on this one. You might be able to get away with 10w30 there.

i've always just used 15w40 year round and never had any problems with the winter up here in alberta, this year i am going to go to a 5w40 synthetic though and see what difference it makes
